I am a computational cognitive neuroscientist and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Brain, Body, and Technology Lab at the Donders Institute, Radboud University. I study how the brain builds models of the self and the world, and how these models change when sensory experience changes.
My work has focused on body perception, blindness, brain plasticity, and sensorimotor augmentation. I combine behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, and computational modeling.
I was recently awarded an F.R.S.-FNRS Chargée de recherches fellowship at UCLouvain, where I will study why congenital blindness may protect against schizophrenia, and what this can teach us about resilience and vulnerability in psychosis.
I completed my PhD at Karolinska Institutet, where I investigated body perception and brain plasticity in blind and sighted individuals. My doctoral thesis was awarded the Glushko Dissertation Prize from the Cognitive Science Society. You can watch my Glushko Prize talk here.
Originally from Poland, my academic journey has taken me through Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and now Belgium. As a scientist, I feel privileged to ask big questions and mentor students as they grow into researchers themselves.
